Speck Candyshell iPhone 4 Case Review and Giveaway (Closed)

December 7, 2010 · 77 comments

Thank you to everyone who entered! The winner is Jessica from Jessica Loves to Save Money.

I want you to know that I’m a huge fan of Speck Products.

The iPhone 3G was my first iPhone and I owned the Candyshell case. Speck has since redesigned the Candyshell case for iPhone 4 and they have made it even better! The bottom piece right below the Home button is reinforced and much more sturdy than the 3G version. I love all of the colors it comes in. Aren’t they candy-like and dreamy? I would have to say the pink one is my favorite!

And I have to admit to something, I waited and waited for this case to come out when I bought the iPhone 4. I even tweeted Speck Products on twitter, several times.

The wonderful folks at Speck sent me a MoonSicle White case to try out. I used it non-stop for 2 months. I even used it while participating in the Susan G. Komen Tampa 3-Day for the Cure. I really like the plastic outer shell and rubbery inside. It’s definitely a sturdy case because let’s face it…I drop things including iPhones. I have dropped it many times in the Candyshell case and it’s fine.

I call them wonderful because they have an awesome customer service department and are very responsive on their facebook and twitter pages. I had to contact about my old iPhone 3G case and they responded within a couple of hours! I have even won stuff on their facebook page!

Pros: Sturdy and comes in awesome colors.
Cons: Some may think it’s bulky but if you are a dropper like me, this is not a con. This case doesn’t work well with my iHome or my auxillary cable (that’s probably 15 years old) for my car stereo but this isn’t Speck’s fault. They can’t possibly make all of their cases fit all of the other third party products out there. Having said that, the PixelSkin HD case works great with my iHome and the ancient aux cable.

Buy it! Currently, Speck Products has an awesome bundle offer. Purchase a Candyshell Case and a ShieldView Screen Protector for $40!

Win it! A Speck Products Candyshell case for iPhone 4 in Batwing Black and a Speck Products ShieldView Screen Protection for iPhone 4 (as pictured above, retail value $45).
