A fancy schmancy digital-SLR *sigh* Dream world… I can come up with a bunch but none will happen. It’s not the pessimist in me, it’s the realist talking 😉

My favorite unwrap attack was our last year’s gift to our little girls, 3 and 5 years old. We finally got them a nice playset for the backyard and had it assembled and waiting for them to play on when they came out to find it. We recorded their reactions; it was hilarious. They were jumping around and screaming and laughing. Very cute!

Opening up a card, last year, with a note in it from my husband that said he had made a secret bank account to save money to pay for my LASIK eye surgery. I had a major unwrap attack!

My unwrap attack would be the “cry heard ’round the world.” There would be crying, laughing, dancing, relaxing, wonder and awe, and paper flying through the air like fireworks. I have Lyme Disease and it has rocked my world. I dropped out of college, soon required a wheelchair and am now bedridden. My wonderful parents are my caretakers. At first, I though the gift I wanted to unwrap attack was the lost years of my early twenties. But, no, I couldn’t do that. Although they have been painful, there has been so much growth and maturation. Plus, my parents could not share in as much joy as I would feel. My family would be totally and utterly undone if I unwrapped a larger, beautiful and colorful box of healing. Once I got a peak of what was inside, the attack would begin. My parents would join in and my brother and sister as well. I would hold my health gently in my arms and then try it on. Of course it would fit perfectly. I would run outside and up and down the block. My once weak legs would be replaced by the strong muscles of a runner. Then my health would take me places. I would go to the movies, parties, road trips and then to other countries. That would be THE BEST gift. Oh, a girl can dream…

Since we found out we need about $10,000 in foundation and wall repairs to our house, I’m not expecting anything for Christmas. So anything would give me an unwrap attack this year. On the off-chance that I do get some things under the tree – the iPod touch would do me in. 🙂
