These deals are too amazing not to blog about. I have read other blog posts that really confused me and I just tweeted about this…I thought it would be much easier to post about it. We’re definitely going to take advantage of this deal this week.
Radio Shack is offering $50 off of every iPhone model and have also upped their trade-in amounts for iPhone models. If you trade in an iPhone 3G, you’ll get $75, and if you trade in an iPhone 3Gs, you’ll get $125. If you’re doing a straight trade-in with no purchase, it’s unclear to me whether it’s cash or a credit or a gift card towards a future purchase. (Your trade-in phone must still work and there must be no cracks on the screen.)
Don’t forget thought, AT&T does charge an activation fee when upgrading, which I hate because it’s charging me to continue to be their customer. And with these deals, you will need to sign a 2-year contract with AT&T.
Here’s a chart and hopefully that will help:
|iPhone 3G||iPhone 3Gs||$0 / receive $25 Radio Shack gift card|
|iPhone 3G||iPhone 4 16gb||$75|
|iPhone 3Gs||iPhone 4 16gb||$25|
Hope this chart helped, just think of this way, if you’re purchasing another iPhone and trading in a 3G, you’ll get $125 off and if you’re trading in a 3Gs, you’ll get $175 off.
My husband got my old 3G and it’s a little slow and once I saw this deal yesterday, I thought it would be great to get him an iPhone 4 but he is unwilling to shell out any extra money right now so we’re going for the 3Gs for him. It will definitely will be a bump in speed for him. We’re in a family plan right now and would just stick with the same plan.
If you’re interested in this, you better hurry, this deal ends Dec. 11th. Let me know if you do. I want to hear about how smooth the process is. I wonder how smooth it will be with an existing family plan. I have only bought my iPhones at AT&T stores.
One other thing, I just looked at the Radio Shack weekly ad for my area on their website and there was no mention of this deal. I did however call my local Radio Shack yesterday and they confirmed it as well as confirmed that they have tons of iPhones in stock (his words). I would call before you head over to your local Radio Shack.
