On day 3, my feet were feeling much better because I switched back to my regular shoes. I got into a groove and walked with Paula (@walking4boobs), Julie (@knittingbagel), Val (@sbux27), Jay (@jayfurr) and Carole (@caroleotter). It was great to walk with the #3daytweeps. Pictured below is Julie and Val…they won the tent decorating contest, that’s what that huge ribbon is for!
If you’re training, fundraising or even thinking about participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, twitter is a huge resource! Just check out the the hashtag #the3day and #3daytweeps to find awesome tweeps to follow.
Here’s me with Katie at lunch. She is a fourthree-time walker who didn’t get to walk this year. She lives near where we have lunch and came to cheer on walkers. She is on twitter also and I met her at the Expo. She has given me tons of great advice on twitter. It was great to see her again. (Can you see my raccoon face? That’s from not putting enough sunblock on my face on Saturday!)
I have to post a picture of a dog. This dog was with her owner cheering us on. I had to take a picture because it was a black and tan.
You don’t know how good it was to see this sign…one mile left! Someone wrote that on the sign because there is a running joke that the 1 mile signs aren’t really put in the right place.
It was a huge relief to finish as well as a huge accomplishment which I’m really proud of. It was an amazing experience too! Thank you to everyone who cheered us on, the crew who worked so hard and to everyone I know who supported me with donations, cards, comments on facebook and tweets on twitter…they really helped!
This is what we’re working towards!
Keep a look out for my recap of the entire event…I have been typing up notes for it, it’s going to be a long one!
Also, don’t forget to enter in my giveaway for an 18-inch plush Energizer Bunny doll, ends next Tuesday.
