The Komen Tampa 3-Day for the Cure is less than 3 weeks away!

I can’t believe it! It’s almost here. I need to start packing and gathering all of my gear…there’s much to do and I’m still training. 🙂

I haven’t blogged in a while but I have been training and preparing for this…I know I will be ready but of course I’m anxious. So what has been going on lately?

My husband and I have been walking along the Indian River in Brevard County, Florida every weekend for the last month (at least) now and we love it. Here’s a picture of the scenery:

You can't beat this backdrop for a training walk and I cannot complain about the beautiful weather we have been getting. It's awesome. Crossing my fingers the weather will be nice and cool for Oct. 29-31.

Here’s a picture of one of the many beautiful houses along the river…I would love to buy it if I had the money. 🙂

One of my favorite colors is yellow, just love this house! And it's huge!

So what else has been happening…well we rescued a baby squirrel and I had to share. If you follow me on twitter or are my friend on facebook, I posted a few pictures. Here’s one…

Isn't he cute? Actually, our dog, Charley, found him.

We were walking him one night and it was pretty late so it was pitch black outside. Charley noticed something on the ground and I kept him moving but my husband was trying to see what it was. He tapped it with his foot and it moved. He was in a puddle (it had just rained) and was very cold. We got him inside and got him warm. He rushed out and got puppy milk and a syringe to feed him with. His eyes weren’t even open yet. I named him Dillinger. I have always wanted to name one of my pets Dillinger. 🙂 We found a wonderful friend of a friend who has experience in nursing baby squirrels and releasing them back into the wild. She is taking very good care of him now and I get to see pictures of him on facebook. I can’t even tell you how sad I was when I gave him up but I know he is in good hands.

We were afraid of how Charley would act with the baby squirrel but he was only curious and was wagging his tail the whole time!

Also, wanted to share with you that I am still fundraising. I’m at 75% of my goal for the Komen Tampa 3-Day for the Cure. I’m still fundraising so if you’ll please, please donate, I would love you for it! You can donate online here. Thank you very much!

What a gorgeous place to walk! Your training walks must fly by with scenery like that.

How cute is that baby squirrel? I’ve never seen one before and just can’t believe how adorable it is! Good for you for saving it, hope it is still going well.
