I just wanted to say thank you to New Balance for providing me with my shoes for the Susan G. Komen Tampa 3-Day for the Cure® event. They provided me with a pair of 760s and a pair of 615s. I’m so thankful for the freebies and my feet are thankful too!
I have been a huge fan of New Balance for a long time, in addition to the 2 pairs they gave me, I currently own three other pairs. I have owned only New Balance sneakers ever since I can remember. I love that New Balance is a huge supporter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.
How does New Balance support Susan G. Komen for the Cure? They contribute 5% of the suggested retail price of sales from the Lace Up for the Cure® Collection with a guaranteed minimum donation of $500,000 each year through 2012. Both of these shoes are a part of the Lace Up for the Cure Collection and have the Komen for the Cure ribbon on the outside as well as on the inside of the shoe.
A couple of cards came in my shoe boxes when I opened it…one of them mentions that New Balance is committed to American workers…meaning my shoes were made in the USA. That’s pretty cool!
Another card talks about the 993s, they are limited edition shoe that you can personalize on www.newbalance.com/personalizethefight. You can pick a message to be stitched onto your shoe, from “Survivor”, “In Honor of”, “Running For” and “Lace Up” and then personalize it by including a name or a message. And remember the 5% donation applies with these shoes too.
I recently watched the video produced at the Komen Boston 3-Day for the Cure event this past July and I loved it. I hope you’ll watch it. It shows a wonderful team from the Boston walk and definitely reminds us of why we walk and also gives us a good idea of life on the walk.
Disclosure: New Balance provided me two pairs of shoe for my participation in the Susan G. Komen Tampa 3-Day for the Cure event. I received no monetary compensation. This post and review was written by me and the opinions are my own.
