For the last several months, I have been using the Energizer® XP1000 – Energi to Go portable charge to charge my iPhone 4 when I need an extra battery boost. The Energi to Go is a battery back up for your cell phone. I love it because the battery life on my iPhone sometimes just needs a little boost, especially when I was at Star Wars Celebration or I’m out and about and am using my phone a lot. Generally, my phone has good battery life but if I’m at an event (meaning not at work) and I’m tweeting, facebooking, taking pictures a lot, etc, it needs more juice or it will just die on me and the XP1000 provides just that.
For the first charge of the XP1000, be sure to follow the instructions and charge it for 8 hours. It charges pretty easily, you hook it up via USB to your computer to charge. I didn’t charge it for 8 hours the first time and I didn’t get as much juice from it as I would have wanted. After that, it will generally only take 3-4 hours to charge. So when I did charge it properly, it charged my iPhone 4 up just fine.
When you plug the Energi to Go to charge your phone, just leave it plugged in until there is no more juice left in the Energi to Go battery pack. For the purpose of this review, I tried to pay attention to how much more battery life the Energi to Go provided to me. When I was at about 36% battery power, I plugged in the Energi to Go battery pack into my iPhone 4 (with the tip provided) and it more than doubled my battery power in less than an hour and a half. The great thing about the Energi to Go is that you can still use your phone while it’s charging. The battery pack is compact and has a little carrying case that fits into my purse and when it’s plugged into my phone, both the battery pack and the phone fit nicely into my pocket. My Energi to Go portable charger is coming with me to the Susan G. Komen Tampa 3-Day for the Cure® next weekend…I will be facebooking and tweeting and taking tons of pictures so I will need all of the extra battery juice I can get! 🙂
The great thing about the Energi to Go and many of Energizer’s charging products, they come with multiple tips to ensure they work with various cell phones, smartphones and even other products. If the package you bought doesn’t include the tip you need for your smartphone, you can order one online for free and all you have to pay is shipping. Luckily, the XP1000 comes with a tip for the iPhone.
So now onto the giveaway, I have not one but TWO chargers to giveaway! I’m giving away an Energizer Energi-To-Go® XP1000 (the one I have been using) AND an AP1000 which is a portable charger (and case!) especially designed for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
