A Training Walk in Atlanta

September 19, 2010 · 2 comments

I visited Atlanta for the first time last weekend. It was so beautiful and amazing. I could totally live in Atlanta. A few weeks or so back, I mentioned going to Atlanta on twitter…and Julie tweeted that we should do a training walk if I do go to Atlanta. What a wonderful idea! It turned out to be so fun even though I had to get up really early. It was awesome meeting some 3-Day for the Cure tweeps that I tweet with.

Julie, Heidi, Niblette (Julie's little one), Kristin, Pam, Me, Kristen and Shenanigans

Entering beautiful Piedmont Park.

This dog reminded me of my dog, Charley. I stopped and talked to the owner. She said he is an Austrailian Kelpie...the same breed we think Charley is a mix of. I can't believe I can't remember his name though...

Assortment of food and first aid supplies Kristen's husband laid out for us for our pit stop.

It's Mug and Nutter Butter.

Niblette and Shenanigans were really great buds!

I love this picture!

The only problem is all of our gadgets didn’t agree with how far we walked. My walkmeter app said we did 6.25 miles, Heidi’s pedometer said 6.75 miles, I think Kristen’s Blackberry said 7 miles and Pam’s Nike+ said 8 miles. We all agreed to go with 8 miles. 🙂

Thanks to Kristen for planning the route and thanks to Kristin for listening to me wallow in my pet woes.

I had so much fun walking with everyone, it was neat to walk on hills (of course after I thought that, not during, I’m a Florida girl, we have no hills) and to walk with others who are training for the Atlanta walk. Two of the people I walked with, Julie and Heidi, are coming to do the Tampa walk. I can’t wait to see them again!!!

Love the picture of Niblette and Shenanigans walking together. Shenanigans is totally looking back saying “C’mon Niblette! Let’s walk faster!”

How fun! I wish I could have gone on a #3Daytweeps training walk!
