In the garden…an update

I can’t believe how much it’s grown.

I replanted the basil, thyme and oregano. Here’s what it looked like 2 weeks ago after I replanted.

Completely amazing…this is what it was this past weekend before I cut 3 cups worth of basil to make pesto! Keep a look out on my food blog for what I make with this herbs. Let me know if you have any ideas…we have tons of basil!

Look at that basil (top). Thyme is bottom left and oregano is bottom right.

Here's Charley stopping to smell the basil. 🙂

Bell Peppers

Roma Tomatoes

Hybrid Sweet Red Peppers

I’m also always looking for ideas on using basil. One thing that I do….and it sounds weird…is I put cottage cheese, basil and a tomato slice on a piece of toast. It’s good for breakfast or lunch!

Very cool! I wish I had thought of documenting the growth of my herbs! They grow so fast! Fresh basil smells heavenly! I make my own pesto, or herb dressing for pasta salad or couscous. A friend of mine from India told me eating a raw leaf everyday is good for health.
